What do you guys think about 5? Does that cross the point of what you're allowed to do? If you want to save your son, would you kill another person's son and cause them pain to prevent yours?

Really think about it. Would you really give up your life? I'm not talking about shoulds, but WOULD you. Are you confident that you'll really be able to? I won't. If I was in a situation like that I'll piss myself, and let whoever is going to die, die. No matter how much I love them.

My body? I'm unsure, but I might be able to. If someone needs my liver, I'll give a piece. My foot? I'm not sure...

Does anyone have a problem with my hierarchy? Particularly 4 and 5? I can see some people willing to do 5, but not 4. I sorta just put it in order of combination of morality and stakes, with 5's moral implications outweighing 4's stakes.

I'm really interested in 5 and 4, because would you be willing to become the monster yourself for the sake of love? Would the object of love want you to become a monster?

difficult to tell what i'd do in a situation like 4. don't think i could do 5, thats a choice that isnt really anything to do with me.

but i would do whatever i physically could to save anyone important to me.

Yeah, I think 5 should be before 4. Self-preservation is one of the strongest instincts. As is egoism, I think the object of love might well prefer you killing someone unrelated than being dead yourself. Dealing with giving up your life for somebody else's sake is a pretty hard thing IMO (and I hope I never get into that sort of situation), especially if you have to calculate it (as opposed to doing it on an impulse, which takes some of the load off).
But there's also the thing about how the other person feels after that, and whether they are even remotely happy to have their life saved if that meant your death. And you're dead, you don't have to deal with anything anymore, they are the ones who have to.
