Founder of Eat Sleep Play, and the former God of War director has stated that he believes cameras and microphones will never be big in gaming, however, he feels digital distribution will.

The legendary developer, David Jaffe, has told the Official PlayStation Magazine talks about 3D and gaming peripherals:

3D has mattered, but in terms of microphones and cameras I couldn’t give a rat’s arse. I’m still trying to get good at making games with just the standard controllers.

For me, digital distribution was a really big deal – just the fact that we’re allowed to see games like Shadow Complex and Flower, games that would never be greenlit for $60 retail products.

The idea of bypassing retail and speaking directly to the customer is pretty exciting.

Yes, that's what the world needs, more digital distribution. That's why the DSi, with its camera and microphone, is tanking, and the PSP Go, with its digital distribution, is selling like hotcakes.
