Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which old console should I purchase?

After reading that story about a mom selling the NES on ebay with some games on ebay and getting over 13,000 bucks, I was thinking of purchasing an old video game console.

Here are some of the consoles I'm thinking of buying, which one will be the most valuable if I sell it on ebay:

1) NES with Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt

2) Atari 2600 with Pac Man

3) Super Nintendo with Legend of Zelda:Link to the Past

4) Magnavox Odyssey

Why don't you buy a WII and DL SNES games off the virtual console..

or get a PS3 and download PS1 games of the PSN store

Get the SNES. When you realize how many great games it has, you'll be overwhelmed. But then the SNES will come down, caress you, and tell you it's alright. And then you can play Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, etc. And you will grow to love it.

You're missing the point. I already have a PS3. I'm buying old video game consoles because I figured after what I read from that article, I could sell them on ebay and get back a lot of money.

NES, I'd go with that.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

for money value, N64 or SNES

but you have to build HUGE game collections

lol Snake forget this crazy idea. There is no easy way to earn money.

Snes.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Unless you're willing to spend hundreds on rare and complete-in-box games you'll never make money this way.

It wasn't the console that made the money, it was the complete games, including an ultra rare collectible game.
