Well, I don't know for all of them, but Pokemon Diamond/Pearl came out on April 28 2007

And April NPD showed:

Pokemon Diamond (DS - Nintendo) 1.045 million

Pokémon Pearl (DS - Nintendo) 712,000

Also, God Of War II came out March 13 2007

and sold 833,000 in March

God of War 2 sold 833,209 in March 2007, per NPD. This is the high mark for God of War III to either match or beat.
God of War 1 sold 214,028 in March 2005.

Also, God of War: Chains of Olympus sold 340,500 in March 2008.

It is a really interesting question when you think about it!

God of war 3 will have 2 weeks on sale before NPD. GOW1 sold around 200k in 2 weeks and GOW2 sold around 650k in 2 weeks.

Final Fantasy 13 has 3 weeks to sell in march. ff games have obviously done well over the years but if we take recent titles - ff12 sold almost 900k in 3 weeks. And ff 10 sold over 1 million in 3 weeks. So because the title is now on 2 formats i expect those numbers to be higher then they would obviously if remaining a ps3 exclusive.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 in my opinion will be the game that is more critically acclaimed out of the 3 (have higher reviews %). But the previous version did not sell so great. So if we base sales on the 1st one were looking at about 500k combined.
BUT i think this game is being hugely underestimated. The beta/demo have gone down really well and everyone seems to be praising it. Some sites such as CVG going so far as to say it is far superiour to MW2. If these things can get out into the media on the same par as ffxiii and GOW3 then it could do very well.

So formats combined (360 and PS3) i would say
1. Final Fantasy 13
2. Bad Company 2
3. God of War

However if we talk about them seperatly then i would say
1. FF13 - 360
2. FF13 - PS3
3. Bad Company 2 - 360

Final Fantasy xii sold 896,000 back in November 2006, per NPD. Surprisingly, Gear of War managed to beat it for the top spot. It may very well happen that Battlefield BC2 will surprise too.

But seriously, i agree with jarrod, definitely. Each version will sell a minimum of 500k, actually i think closer to 650-700k.

Now if we cinsider multiplatform i think BF will take second, if not then GoW3 will take second spot(or 3rd if pokemon versions are seperated).

This seems to be quite interesting fact.. FFXIII, GOWIII, Pokemon all seems to be quite a huge mega sellers.. although i see Pokemon is slightly bigger than rest of them but with BF:BC2 a wild card.. there is going to be some serious competition and March can belong to anyone i think now..

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!
