You seem to be mixing up the games.

According to VGChartz GoWII sold 610,000 less than GoW.

@caseyddr and vic viper, those are definitely your own opinions, and bayonetta is a different type of hack and slash then god of war, dont see how you can compare the two, dmc is much more comparable to bayonetta than god of war. I thought the gow demo was awesome, and after seeing the footage that I have, I am convinced that this will be one of the very best games in 2010. Bayonetta may have had variety, but im much more interested in the story of god of war as the first 2 are among my favorite games of all time. To each their own I guess but I can definitely tell you guys are in the minority for sure. God of war is the definitive hack and slash series, nuff said.

Funny how you should say that. Look at all the praise it's getting from fans, and pre-orders are high.

It's also funny how you should say it's not that good if you haven't even played more than 30 minutes of it (if you played the demo.)

This game will crack 1M+ no problem.

I think It'd be under 1.3, not 1.5. It'll probably sell more in the coming weeks.

And I also love how you judge an entire game based off a 2 year old pre-alpha build demo, if recent trends are anything to go by then the game should be drastically better than the demo.

Being that God of War II sold closer to 500,000 first week, I think predictions like this are a good way to be disappointed with the sales God of War III achieves.

well the as franchise series is releasing on the next gen platform in comparison to previous, it'll lure more fanbase and numbers will be definitely higher. Just looking out for more trailers.

800k looks pretty much certain, but lets dont fool ourselves... I hope that it will do over a million, but chances are slim at best. Im seeing it doing over half million first week in the US, maybe 300k in others and ~ 30k first week in Japan...

and looking at past-gen episode that were new IP (god of war1) or end of the PS2 gen release (god of war2) are a good way to be surprised IMO
