This is beyond pathetic, I'm sorry, sony you are the most retarded company I have ever fucking seen when it comes to 3rd party games, the only smart thing you have done with a 3rd party ip was with MGS4.

Microsoft "Every playstation franchise has migrated to XBOX 360, and all of you will do the same"

that statement makes so much more sense now, since it seems former huge playstation ip, are being more assosiated with the XBOX brand than the playstation brand.

1.5M first week in one region already. 360 has some catching up to do from the get go....not to mention that even if it DOES manage to outsell the PS3 version in America, it won't in Europe. I'm not worried and neither should you. I doubt this game's brand recognition is gonna switch to the 360. This is one of those games where it'll sell better on the PS3 (even if Xbox got a release in Japan). Just look at every Japanese centric game. Tekken, DMC, DBZ (yea, I'll count that), even Batman and Burnout sold better here

I would imagine this is a response by Microsoft since the game has half the pre-orders in America that the PS3 version has! Microsoft must have been worried and rehashed the MW2 bundle!

Good move for MS.

As far as who is doing the advertising, I know Sony did poster ads and SE did big Youtube ads for Japan but I cannot find TV ads.

Does anyone know who did the TV ads in Japan? Was it Sony or SE? (Im betting it will be the exact same here, whoever did it)

@ Topic: I bet MS paid a truckload for this exlusive bundle too, and I seriously doubt they will be making any money off just this bundle.  Why make this console special (IE like the MW2 bundle).  They do not want gamers who already own a 360 to buy this, they want new customers.  It makes sense not to "deck" it out.

Kotaku is saying that the 360 bundle is the only bundle to be release outside of Japan.

Huge win for Microsoft and the Xbox 360 ecosystem.

How it's just a bundle.

Casual FF fans who were looking forward on picking up a system for FFXIII might pick up this one. It's a pretty sweet deal. Also this might sway some PS2 owners into upgrading to a 360 instead of a PS3. Smart business move by Microsoft.

Exactly. Most people who liked FF7 and FFX are regular mainstream gamers. The average Final Fantasy consumer is not the stereotypical animecon western otaku who thinks Japan is teh superior to Americuh (and by extension, Playstation is teh superior to Xbox). That is the idea that people have of FF fans and so that`s why it`s automatically assumed that FF13 would flop on 360 and that people wouldn`t buy the bundle. This bundle is going to attract a lot of gamers. Not like MW2 obviously. But nothing can compare to MW2 popularity-wise these days. I predict the PS3:360 gap for FF13 is going to shrink after release when more and more mainstream fans get into the mix and crowd out the hardcore FF base. Especially now that there is a 360 bundle for it. Mainstream gamers don`t have brand loyalty. This is why Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Devil May Cry, all `Playstation franchises`, managed to sell more on the 360 in North America. I don`t see the 360 version of FF13 outselling the PS3 version in NA but the gap will definitely shrink.

Probably mentioned, but I doubt this was a "free" move for MS. I bet some monies were exchanged or otherwise there would be no exclusiveness. If it wasn't exclusive then Sony truly is dumb :).

Since when has Street Fighter and Resident Evil been "Playstation franchises"?  Even from the Playstation days of old those games have been ported to every other console.  Hell Resident Evil has been a "Nintendo franchise" for a while until Capcom told Mikami to shut up.

Xbox 360 Version of FFXIII > PS3 version now in NA.

Toss in Tekken 6, then let me tell you that those "Playstation franchises" still outsold those games, even if the 360 version outsold them in America. What did you expect? It has like double the userbase here!

.....even though the PS3 version is preordering 2-1 versus the 360 version.

That's a good thing. FFVS 13 is next. The only games ms needs now are dragon quest and kingdom hearts.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Xbox 360 in Japan still have games that they didn't announce yet.
