Kotaku is saying that the 360 bundle is the only bundle to be release outside of Japan.

Huge win for Microsoft and the Xbox 360 ecosystem.

How it's just a bundle.

Casual FF fans who were looking forward on picking up a system for FFXIII might pick up this one. It's a pretty sweet deal. Also this might sway some PS2 owners into upgrading to a 360 instead of a PS3. Smart business move by Microsoft.

Exactly. Most people who liked FF7 and FFX are regular mainstream gamers. The average Final Fantasy consumer is not the stereotypical animecon western otaku who thinks Japan is teh superior to Americuh (and by extension, Playstation is teh superior to Xbox). That is the idea that people have of FF fans and so that`s why it`s automatically assumed that FF13 would flop on 360 and that people wouldn`t buy the bundle. This bundle is going to attract a lot of gamers. Not like MW2 obviously. But nothing can compare to MW2 popularity-wise these days. I predict the PS3:360 gap for FF13 is going to shrink after release when more and more mainstream fans get into the mix and crowd out the hardcore FF base. Especially now that there is a 360 bundle for it. Mainstream gamers don`t have brand loyalty. This is why Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Devil May Cry, all `Playstation franchises`, managed to sell more on the 360 in North America. I don`t see the 360 version of FF13 outselling the PS3 version in NA but the gap will definitely shrink.

Toss in Tekken 6, then let me tell you that those "Playstation franchises" still outsold those games, even if the 360 version outsold them in America. What did you expect? It has like double the userbase here!

.....even though the PS3 version is preordering 2-1 versus the 360 version.
