As much I like the new gimmicks in Sonic, lyeah, I think there should be a game that focuses completely on the speed with new mechanics. Stil, the games are met with bias.

I'd say it's justified, we kept giving Sonic chances and he kept dissapointing.

... Oh wow.
I liked sonic Adventure, but I did not like Sonic 3D.
Sega milked their blue hedgehog worse than mario way back when, don't forget that fun factoid. Some games were good, some weren't.. Some were.. Bizarre (sonic pinball?? Mean bean machine????)
But the main sonic games were all well recieved until the ports to the gamecube. Maybe then because the technical awesomeness of the "new" dreamcast faded away and reviewers expected better gameplay/graphics? The games were aged somewhat by then.
Then on, sonic team did jack shit to innovate their main series of sonic games, and the critics began to loathe the series more and more. The transition to 3D initially brought the franchise new life, but sonic team never did quite squash the gameplay bugs that had been nagging people for so long and decided to add stupid gimmicks instead to cover them up.
And it's still true to this day with unleashed and the "werehog" (LOL!)
Who knows, maybe sega is just designing sonic for a young audience these days with these things. Certainly not what most longtime sonic fans have been wanting.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

I think I know who's responsible for that... Mario!!!

You seem to lack a proper perspective. Back then, Sonic was big and important, a system seller, so the expectations were high and we compared it to games of similar caliber. Nothing save beating Mario would be considered a success. And it not only lost, it lost big.
I guess nowadays, when no one expects anything good out of Sonic franchise, those scores seem high. Well, they weren't.
Everything after Sonic Adventure 2 just feels half assed.
Sonic Heroes was simply boring. The level design is awful and they drag on.
Sonic and the Secret Rings was like an Arcade game. It wasn't awful, but nothing great by any means.
The 2D stages on Sonic Unleashed were fun. Everything else was the problem.
Sonic (2006) was a joke. I can't believe that actually exist.

And the irony is, I hated that game. It's the Sonic game that made me hate the franchise.
I agree. People expect crap at this point, and just bash Sonic games (and Sonic Team), needlessly.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
