That's the weird thing: we were screened for several months before being allowed.

and this piece of shit? http://www.gamestyle.net/#fp-reviews
how can this site be accepted in Metacritic? (when they posted their KZ2 review it was THEIR FIRST REVIEW LOL! it seemed to me then they just created the site to bash that game with a 60! ) I'll ask again, how come VGC is not on metacritic yet?

even still, I wouldn't exactly call us professional. Although I think our reviewers understand the concept and are actually very qualified and professional, I think there is a fundamental "disconnect" with the value of the scores they assign. No offense to anybody in particular.

Metacritic has higher standards than you might think. They don't accept every review site ever. There are just over 100 reviews for Uncharted 2 on Metacritic, more than any other game. N4G has 381 reviews.
And yes, that site is perfectly professional. He makes perfectly valid points and gives good reasons for giving the game an 8/10. It's an unpopular opinion, but that doesn't mean it's bad. And is there any real difference between a 96 and a 97? Or, for that matter, a 90 and an 89?
As for why VGC isn't on Meta/GR, it's all to do with quantity. We'll probably be up there in the next couple of months.
LOL sorry theprof00, reading comprehension fail.
@theprof00
at least we know nobody is money-hatted here to give high scores to a game!
When mass effect 2 beats this game's metacritic score, that's when you know just how much of an asshole Jim Sterling is.
Kabbam! Bloodwing!

I wasn't talking about VGC :p
As Kantor said (and I guessed), there's also a question of quantity (and regularity). Variety is not a problem, the size and scope of the website isn't a problem either, so they should be showing up on Metacritic some day too.
@ kantor: You sure about those several months? Because I thought they had a "minimum number of reviews" before even considering a site?
@nybble
no prob, sorry if i came off as terse lol.
@gekko
oh absolutely. In that situation, the quality would never improve.
