There's a much simpler reason. MAG isn't particularly good. If you look at it, most PS3 gamers don't want MAG.

Both of those statements might be true, but they are completely unrelated. Most PS3 owners don't want Uncharted 2 either, but that doesn't mean it's bad.

Looking at it that way, most gamers on any console don't want any specific game, because no game has a 50% attach rate (except Wii Sports, and I'm pretty sure half of the Wii's install base or more wouldn't have paid full price for that), but looking at the extremely small sample of this website and others like it, MAG is nowhere near as popular as, say, Uncharted 2, or Gears, or Halo, or MW2, etc.

yeah cause your comparing it to establiahed franchises. if you seen my review thread for MAG you would see majority of top reviewers praised MAG and for it to sell 300,000 units in it's first week tells you this game has a future, also tells you ps3 owners do want MAG lol.

I didn't mention new IPs, or justifications for sales, or even expectations that the game would perform as well as others in its genre.

I'm simply stating that MAG isn't overly popular among the install base who currently has access to it which is, contrary to popular belief, actually very similar to the 360 install base in buying habits, for the most part.

Would MAG sell more on 360? Perhaps, but only because it's a game aimed mostly at NA, which is a stronger territory for the 360 than the PS3.

nope you compared its popularity to established franchises and thats what i called you out on. i dont understand your second sentence. are you saying MAG isnt popular or will sell well because of the ps3 install base not being fps dominated? that isnt necessarily true. or else any other game not fps will sell poorly on the 360 according to your logic

I am comparing it to popular games of the last couple of years. At no point did I say I expect MAG to sell on those levels. I would be shocked if it did, and that's exactly the point.

No, 360 gamers don't want MAG, because PS3 gamers don't want MAG. Whether this is because of reviews, genre preference or it being a new IP isn't really relevant.

yeah comparing it to other popular ESTABLISHED FRANCHESIS. what dont you get from that? the reviews for MAG are great not excellent but great. i think ps3 users do want MAG it sold 300,000 units in its first week even as a new IP. Sony has a good fps following and its enough for the genre to bring in a revenue and will grow as more ps3's sell worldwide.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

MAG is a mans game! you must archive manliness in the art of manliness.

Hey fool I'm a 360 owner and I wanted MAG and I got it. Don't act like you opinion represents all 360 owners when it only represents your own. What a stupid thread.

This threads less about why 360 only owners don't want MAG and more about advertising planetxbox, everyone know's the 360 has fantastic fps games but you don't give one good reason why they wouldn't want another.

I wouldnt call MAG a "Fantastic" FPS, i would call it another Haze or shadow run.

Y lord Y do people like this exist!!!!!!

LMAO! I just spit out my soda!!!

OT:  this article it a tad bit 360 biased,  the 360 seems to have a large fanbase of shooters, I'm sure some would enjoy this if it was on their system

Simply because most 360 gamers are FPS hardcore addicts, and MAG is more appealing for the casual audience.
