There's a much simpler reason. MAG isn't particularly good. If you look at it, most PS3 gamers don't want MAG.

Both of those statements might be true, but they are completely unrelated. Most PS3 owners don't want Uncharted 2 either, but that doesn't mean it's bad.

Looking at it that way, most gamers on any console don't want any specific game, because no game has a 50% attach rate (except Wii Sports, and I'm pretty sure half of the Wii's install base or more wouldn't have paid full price for that), but looking at the extremely small sample of this website and others like it, MAG is nowhere near as popular as, say, Uncharted 2, or Gears, or Halo, or MW2, etc.

yeah cause your comparing it to establiahed franchises. if you seen my review thread for MAG you would see majority of top reviewers praised MAG and for it to sell 300,000 units in it's first week tells you this game has a future, also tells you ps3 owners do want MAG lol.

I didn't mention new IPs, or justifications for sales, or even expectations that the game would perform as well as others in its genre.

I'm simply stating that MAG isn't overly popular among the install base who currently has access to it which is, contrary to popular belief, actually very similar to the 360 install base in buying habits, for the most part.

Would MAG sell more on 360? Perhaps, but only because it's a game aimed mostly at NA, which is a stronger territory for the 360 than the PS3.

nope you compared its popularity to established franchises and thats what i called you out on. i dont understand your second sentence. are you saying MAG isnt popular or will sell well because of the ps3 install base not being fps dominated? that isnt necessarily true. or else any other game not fps will sell poorly on the 360 according to your logic
