I have no problem with cutscenes my problem is that they use way to much these days, sometimes I feel like use cutscenes beacuse they they can't be bothered with gameplay.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I do and I also don't consider them 'real' games.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Myst was an awesome, classic experience. It great that a developer such as QuantumDreams can successful push something similar into the 21st century. This is what makes gaming so awesome.

Eh, you know what cutscenes bother me even more then the "this looks so cool I wish i was playing this!" cutscene.

The 5 second... "We need to be careful ahead" cutscene... where they bother to cut to the cutscene models and hand gestures... just for one line that could of been handled with dialogue or a text box without the need for the loading and time wasting

That opening post was so stupid. Made worse by the fact that most of those so called "interactive movies" have much better game play than the "actual games". And they do it with a sweet plot as well.

So only the modern console JRPG is an interactive movie? Not the oldschool ones?

You know what smoked? Grow up.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

Why is Bayonetta in the "games" section?
Did you simply decide that it's gameplay was too strong to be in the "interactive movie" section? That game is one of the most heavily cutscene laden games that I've played in a while. There's a movie cutscene every 5 minutes just about, and a lot of it is story material.

Wait, Adventure games aren't games? What about Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Discworld, Myst? Not games!? And you hate on Ace Attorney. Feel my wrath!

I don't dislike "Interactive Movies". What bothers me though is when developers cut the "Interactive" part and leaves me with "Movies".
I don't hate cutscenes, in fact I like them, but when they are MGS long they better be amazing or I feel like I'm wasting my time here, imo.
Something I would love to see more of is "interactive cutscenes". Cutscenes with QTE's, or better, choices to change the outcome of the cutscene. Heavy Rain does this, and while I'm not overly excited about the game, I really like the "interactive cutscenes" if I may call them that.

Anyway, I don't see the point of this thread. It's ok to dislike certain types of games, there are few gamers who loves every genre, but it's insulting to call those games non-games because of that. I don't think you like when people call Wii Sports or Wii Fit non-games, or bash Super Mario for not having a story. What you did here is basically the same thing.

With those definitions, I love both. So I went for the "steaming pile" option.

Yeah, those are usually the only types of cut-scenes that bug me. Man, the one that comes to mind would be the battle between Raiden and Vamp in MGS4. Now that would have been awesome to be part of... but nooooo!

But yeah, I like games that I enjoy... not much more to it than that.
