It's an interesting topic, though. Personally, I'd love to play 3D games as long as the glasses are not that annoying. If there was a way to combine 3D with motion controllers...

You say it is possible for the PS3 to ship 22 million units? You know this would mean the PS3 would be up 70% over the year they cut the price by $100 and redesigned the console?!

It is fair to say, that it is not very likely for the PS3 to have the sales of the PS1.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

No but I have some nice prediction skills.

I predicted the Wii would be this gen's number one back in 2005 while everyone was still skeptical.

There's no way the PS3 will sell 22 million units next year like the PS1 did in it's 4th year.

It's still a "gimmick", you have to hear glasses if you want to be inside the experience.

In my opinion, it will take off when AutoStereoscopic TV's (3D with naked eye, no glasses) become affordable... Sometime next gen.

more "gimmmick" is the AutoStereoscopic technology ... only one person can see it and if you can add more people they must me still or else they dont see the 3D... they might bring some thing without the glasses but it wont be as good...

to OP:
PS3 is selling well... not as well as competition... one is the fastest selling console in the history of home console and the other has more then a year ahead and a price advantage given the similar performance... it natural for PS3 to be in third until now... i think it will, on the long run, sell as much as PS1 sold...
