You guys had that discussion about PS3 vs PS1 performance in the Sony forum so I thought I might just as well scrub in. This picture shows yearly shipments of Sony consoles (Fiscal Year). It might be a bit off sometimes as I was a bit tired while working on it and the reports were a bit screwed up so tell me if I made any mistakes but it should be fine overall. Numbers are in millions of units, obviously. The PS3 number for Fiscal Year 4 is the projected 13 million units of Playstation 3 hardware SONY forecasted.
Yearly Shipments: *

And here are the cumulative numbers: *

I'll just let you guys come up with your PS3 hardware numbers for this year. Something between 10-15 million looks save, though.
And this is where I got the numbers from.
Any opinions and/or predictions?
*Fiscal Year 1 includes only Japan shipments for both PS1 and PS2 as the consoles saw staggered launches but includes all 3 major territories in the Playstation 3 graph as it was released in all 3 markets during one fiscal year.

That website didn't have a proper structure for shipments at all, one Fiscal Year ended in April and another one showed 39m PS1 instead of 89m which kinda... screwed my graph before I realized it was just a mistake
