Mother 2, aka Earthbound is a game that needs to be played to know how awesome the series is, because visually it is very deceiving at first.

This game was skipped on the SNES because of this. But thanks to emulation people got to know the game, its ages well

I personally don't see what's so special about the series. I played Earthbound, thought it was passable and never had the urge to play the other games.

I've never played them before, but I remember waiting a long time for Earthbound 64 before it eventually got canceled! I was looking forward to that game!

It's now called Mother 3 there's a fan translation and it is amazing go play it
