Why do Nintendo fans ask so many questions?

I was gonna make a thread about this the other day. All the Nintendo threads on the front page are usually questions, and pretty weird ones at that. It reeks of insecurity... seeking approval where none exists and so on..

I was gone for a month. I guess the moral among Nintendo fans took a nosedive during January.

I think it was always like that. I've been doing some research on viral marketing, and basically it only works when the "collective" takes the bait, and Nintendo fans always take the bait.. they react and run with it, they get insecure.

I'm trying to figure out why that is. Perhaps it's just the kind of gamer Nintendo attracts. Questions on top of questions is usually a reaction to some criticism they heard, that's the best can't fail example of something going viral I've seen in a while.

Interesting theory.

I assume the reason why Nintendo fans always feel the need to defend themselves is because it has always been that way since the internet took off in the mid '90s. Pretty much whereever you go, people are telling you that there must be something wrong with you if you are still playing Nintendo games (this is also common outside of the internet).

On top of that, Nintendo fans desperately need a voice, someone who speaks for them. This generation more than ever, because pretty much the entire gaming media has turned against them. I guess that's the reason why they flocked to Sean Malstrom, at least before he started to criticize Nintendo games.

Pretty much, but I think it's really the nature of gaming today. Nintendo is pro-social, and gaming is dominated by teen anti-social. A pro-social environment was never created for gaming, there is no Oscars in a pro-cultural sense, only trade shows. There aren't magazines aimed at lifestyle and gaming, it's all dominated by a teen mentality. There is potential for gaming to be more than that because a lot of people are playing games right now, but there is no investment interest in that media, at least not until Nintendo steps way out of the picture..

As far as I'm concerned Voice acting is not essential for a video game. I don't want Link to talk because it would spoil the whole experience of a Zelda gaem which is designed to make you feel that you are Link. So no from me too.

I wouldn't say that persay, rather, that Nintendo fans actually like to have something to discuss and talk about, rather than something like "OMG, FPS #496 is announced!" News is actually harder to have a conversation about than a question for discussion.

Anyway, the actual topic at hand. I also don't really want Link to talk any more than he already has. For me, talking removes a level of immersion of the game. When everyone has scripted dialogue, it feels like one step closer to a movie. Conversely, having your main character mute means that you can think of something you might want him to say. It doesn't happen often, but there are times I want to scream "No, bad idea!", but the character in the game says "Sure, let's go off to nearly die for no reason!" That's when I know that the character isn't me, or any pseudo-personification of me.

I hope this Wind Waker comment isn't serious.

You know, you could at least quote me before spreading your lies.

I only quote when I feel the need to. I have heard of cake being a lie, but curiosity being a lie? I'll just leave that alone.

Since it seems you are serious, I might need the break down the real question of this thread. Everyone else clearly knew what I meant, Do you want Link talking to other characters? engaging in heavy dialogue with other characters? He grunts, he screams, he said a few words a toddler could have spat out from Wind Waker. Eventually the series will have all of this, I'm positive about that. But, I do not, and I repeat, do NOT want Link to have any part of it. Now could you give your opinion once more? If not, why bother posting the pointless irrelevance purposely.
