I see you guys' point, but maybe by the time DQX is out there will be more tempting platforms to release it into, like 3DS, PSP-2, heck, even Wii 2 should be out in a little more than one year.

Besides there is the userbase issue, not that I doubt DQX could easily bring back Wii's inactive userbase, though.

Totally.  I think a PS3 version will nerf DS sales with the hardcore too, and I think both versions should do 800k plus.  It's Ghibli.

DS version's pre-orders aren't that great though according to COMG!

It's still a new IP and if if the word of mouth is positive it should have some nice legs!

It lacks the social aspect though that is part of the succes of DQIX, MHP and Pokémon series.

No, it has tag mode actually, and Poke-style challenging.  It's basically like DQ meets Pokemon meets Ghibli.

dude. to nintendo sure they dont wanna lose to the ps3, but they also dont want to lose holiday sales! It's not like a race where if you're one second or 1 minute behind it's the same thing, Nintendo will lose $$ if they dont try to push their products in the one time of the year that nintendo products usually thrive on!

What if they have price cut planned for spring 2011 and want to save DK for release shortly after ? That could be lot more profitable in the long run if it boosted Wii sales to previous levels.

Deosnt seem that way

Anyways unless DK is a revelation, then the PS3 looks to have won the holidays... the wii bundle comes in 2 weeks though, that should be interesting
