I dont understand how in the beginning of January the PS3 total was at 32m, and now its been subtracted, I think the PS3 has been mistakenly undertracked. Could somebody clear this up for me?

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

What you linked is talking about sales to retailers, while we track sales to consumers. The difference between the two is comprised of all of the units that sit on store shelves or are in transit in one form or another.

Usually it's a case of Shipped vs. Sold.
If Sony says they have sold 33.5 million, they have sold these to shops all over the world. Not to actual consumers, which is what VGChartz is tracking.

The downward adjustment of the PS3 was due to it being overtracked in the Others region. Apparently Ioi had made certain assumptions that were not in line with what the more established tracking firms was assuming. Or something like that.

Oh, thank you, but why were the PS3 hardware sales higher in the end of December than they are now.

The reported 33.5 million units is the total amount of PS3's that Sony shipped to retailers. The 30.85 million units that VGChartz has is the total amount PS3's that those retailers sold to real customers like you and me.

BUT, the difference in shipped units and sold units is way bigger for PS3 than for X360 and Wii, so it could be that PS3 is indeed undertracked on VGChartz, or that X360 or Wii are overtracked.

you know Vgchartz doesn't like PS3 thats why the numbers are always very low I did a same post about metal gear solid 4 awhile ago and everbody got mad saying it was a shipped number when konami stated sold not shipped. But still Vgchartz quietly increased the numbers a week or two later. two weeks ago PS3 was a head of 360 in others by like 200,000 systems now its behind almost 300,000 systems I dont believe it at all. Every one is going to Bash us cuz we see the truth and they dont.. lET the BULLS**T Shipped talk begin!!!

Must we go through this every week?

Sony reports sold to retailers (VGC calls this shipped, Sony calls it sold)
VGC reports sold to consumers (VGC calls this sold, Sony calls it sellthrough)

The PS3 numbers were adjusted down because the PS3 had been overtracked in the smaller European countries for 3-4 years.

ts kinda funny....ioi adjusted the ps3 x360 psp ds and wii sales because of the report of NIntendo!
now That sony reports a way better figure(dec!) its kinda weird.

what also is weird is when micrsoft of nintendo says whe sold this amount of units then everybody belives jups it sold.
but when sony says it sold this amound of units then everybody says"noo noo they mean shipped not sold" go and call sony and ask what they mean. if not STFU sony knows 100x better what they have sold and shipped.
and not Nintendo or you
