On one hand, I want it to feel like a 3D Super Metroid (SNES).
On the other hand, I really want it to innovate.

I'm hoping for Shadow Complex on horse steroids. Throw in some awe inspiring storyline and some Metroid Zero Mission style stealth, too. This may be my most anticipated game of the year. I hope it lives up to its lineage.
For it to be fun and for Samus to talk A LOT!
Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!
Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!
I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!
Atmosphere.
Though Dampowell's idea for Morph Ball Dodge is pretty good.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Way back in 1994 when I played Super Metroid, there was a dead guy covered in parasites right before you go into Kraid's lair. I imagined a backstory for the guy (I was a huge dork, btw). He was part of a team that went into planet Zebes before Samus did. His whole crew got wiped out, brutally.
It'd be cool if other Hunters besides Samus went on the mission, crossed Samus' path, helped her out, and died out as the game progressed. You feel a whole lot more "alone" if you know what it's like to have friends. I don't expect this but, it'd be nice.
So far I've enjoy every Metroid game so I'm likely to love this one. This seesm to be much different than any other Metroid game which makes it more ineteresting ,ad The way Sakamoto-san talked about it, made it even more exciting.
If you can switch between 2D and 3D then it will be certinaly a great feature of the game, kind of like Super paper Mario. Hey that's right hidden objects can only be found in 2d mode and some other hidden items can only be found in 3D mode. Can't wait to see how the stroy will be like. Samus talking will be a first but it could add to the experience.
Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,
mario maker
new 3ds
yoshi woolly world
zelda U
majora's mask 3d
I'm just hoping for an Epic game, just as epic as Super Metroid from the Snes

Sarcasm?
This sounds a lot like Metroid Prime 3.

Frankly, I think Nintendo and Team Ninja are going to develop more creative ideas then I could ever come up with. So I'm not going to speculate. The only thing I am going to speculate about is that this partnership is going to produce one of, if not the most original Metroid games ever conceived and possibly something on the scale of Ocarina of Time for the Metroid series.
My one hope is that this game will actually play more like the 2D games than any type of 3D game. Yes, it looks to be a 3D game and frankly one of my favorite 3D games of all time was Ninja Gaiden by Team Ninja. However, I'd rather this partnership created a whole new unique engine that no one has ever seen before that can somehow reproduce 2D Metroid style gameplay on a 3D plane. Not just mimicking the look or design of it, but the actual feel, precision and controls of a 2D Metroid game in a 3D environment. I've actually been dreaming of that ever since the N64 and I have a hunch Sakamoto, the developer of Metroid, has as well. And I'm hoping this game will accomplish that goal.
It's unlikely that the core fanbase (myself included) will be satisfied. Tecmo better not f*ck it up.
