Description: Today's Game of the Day is Mario Party 8. With Mario Party 8 the Mario Party franchise has seen it's most succesful entry yet. We all know how big a hit Mario Party 8 has been, but I think it becomes even more impressive when you look at percentages.  Mario Party 8 has seen a 257% increase in sales over Mario Party 4-7's sales, and a 334% increase over the previous entry, Mario Party 7. That increase is even significantly larger than the Wii's 144% increase in sales over the Gamecube so far.  So why do you think that is? Is Mario Party 8 a better game, was there just nothing else to buy on Wii for awhile, do you have another suggestion?  Vote in the poll, then leave a comment letting us know what you think.

-If you recognized the format of this thread, it's because I copied my daily update from this thread (the one in my sig), to make this thread.  I'm still getting a lot of views in that thread, but not many comments.  So I decided I would make a new thread for todays update, and see if people are really not interested in this type of post or if for some reason they aren't posting in my other thread.  If you do like this style of post please check out my other thread for similar daily updates.

It ain't because it's better. I voted for only 1 version on the Wii so far.

Its obviously due to the "expanded audience".

The Gamecube didn't have that family appeal like the Wii does. Lets also not forget the much large userbase.

The game is not so good...

But it's a combination : there's expended audience, 1st one to use Wiimote, been a while since 7, no sequel right after it...
And it's not so bad overall. And dont forget no good game when it went out, Mario's in the name and install base.

MP9 should add online, Wii Speak, Balance and Wii Motion +... to do at last half these numbers !

Audience, definately.

wii's expended audience & there wasn't that many good games when it released

It was a change of pace (my sister bought it for her Wii) thanks to the addition of motion controls. Before that, a new Mario Party was released almost every year, with very little innovation (from the outsider's perspective).

Is there only one correct answer ? I'd say: B and D
