Ok..so many threads have gone around claiming that games like Animal Crossing and Kid Icarus have been official confirmed for E3.  And they all present the url E3.net as "official" proof.

Many vgcharters have attempted to quell these rumors, pointing out that the site is, in fact, not official...and is actually owned by UGO (a site not unlike IGN), but that never seems to stop the snowball.

Well...we've said it until we're blue in the face....but how's this for some confirmation:

Coincidentally (or not) both Joystiq and Kotaku have run stories saying just the same thing.

Hopefully we can be done with that now.

I will repeat it again, since I'm tired of seeing that site used as proof or to confirm certain releases of games.

That site is pure speculation and it isn't even official.

It must be repeated.  Too many a good poster here has been deluded and duped...and won't even bother to research the source themselves.

Why would companies announce games anyway?
