So far, we already know of a brand new entry for (i) 3D Kirby (Kirby and the World Beyond, the first wholly open world Kirby game), (ii) 2D Metroid (Metroid Ravenous, a follow up to an already beloved Metroid Dread), (iii) Xenoblade (Xenoblade Genesis, the start of a new subseries to the Xenoblade IP), and (iv) mainline 3D Pokémon (Winds & Waves, the first wholly open world mainline Pokémon game looking to be a major evolution (graphically and gameplay-wise) for the series). And credible rumors point toward 3D Mario, a Star Fox Adventure sequel, the "big" MarioKart World DLC, and even games such as Nintendogs, WarioLand, and so forth.

How are we feeling? Will 2027 be the first really big year for Nintendo Switch 2 software? The first two years have been strong, don't get me wrong, but... whew! This upcoming year really is looking like one of those 2017/2023 years for Nintendo.

I was thinking the same. We already have metroid ravenous, kirby, pokemon and xenoblade all confirmed for a 2027 release. With a 3D Mario also heavily rumoured. I think Duskbloods might get pushed back to 2027 as well.

Have high hopes for Pokémon being the best HD-Era title.

I did enjoy my time with Scarlet despite it's lack of polish, I think the Switch 2 update which is what I played helped me there.

Mario Kart World's "big" DLC, Star Fox Adventures sequel, Wario Land, and 3D Mario would make a goated 2027 for Nintendo for me.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Pokémon Winds/Waves. I haven't enjoyed a game in the franchise since Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and haven't loved a game in the series since HeartGold and SoulSilver lol. With the Switch 2 hardware, I'm hoping GF finally got what it takes to make a peak 3D Pokémon game.

Yeah between Metroid, Kirby, Xenoblade, and mainline Pokemon, it is already looking like a pretty strong year, before we even account for the fact that there's almost certainly multiple first party 2027 games as yet unconfirmed.

You can see these games all lining up 5-6 years after their Switch 1 predecessors in 2021/2022, which means we should also be due for the next title from Next Level Games next year as well.

Nintendo seems to be releasing two exclusives per quarter with DLC & Switch 2 Editions filling in gaps.

Assuming this trend continues and based on current rumors, I could see something like

Q3 2027-Nintendogs+Xenoblade
Q4 2027-3D Mario+Pokemon

So yeah, 2027 looks like it will be another good year.

It's already shaping up to be a good year for me on the Nintendo front. DKB is really the only exclusive NS2 game out so far that I'm interested in.

Pokemon Wind/Waves is easily Day One. I'd even extend that to the rumored ports of Pokemon R/S/E that may come next year. But Kirby and the World Beyond does look good though, and its something I want to play down the line.

Please let just not put Star Fox Adventures on anything of this conversation. Lets just say its a Star Fox new entry, period. It might give the wrong idea to Nintendo that people are dying to see a sequel to that game

I made a thread on this 3 months ago. And while we have yet to reach 2027 and know all the games coming out, it's looking better slowly but surely.

I don't think 3D Mario is coming in 2027 anymore. I know the long wait for it is already breaking a Nintendo pattern, but I really don't see two Nintendo-published 3D platformers in one calendar year. 

Q2 2028 (the first quarter of that fiscal year) is one of the earliest realistic release windows for 3D Mario to me. Q3 or Q4 2028 are very likely. 2029 seems very late and unlikely. Q4 2027 seems like the absolute earliest now. 

I was most hyped for Pokémon and still am excited but xenoblade genesis has stolen all my attention now. Well after ocarina of time anyway.
