Forums - Gaming - What Is Your Gaming Routine?

Or rather, how do you find time in your life for video games?

For me, I just use all day Saturday (8am through 9:30pm) running through whatever game I’ve been working on. No other time throughout the week unless there’s a break (e.g. Spring/Winter break), in which case I may do several of these all-day sessions until I’ve fully beaten the game I’m currently working on.

Whenever I find free time that I'm at home that doesn't require me adulting.

wife and I split after dinner twice a week, she reads and I game, so 2-3 hours twice a week (during the week). Then usually another 2 hours Sat and Sun morning, not much other than those 4 splits.

For the last 8 years or so, I've been gaming mainly during my daily train trips to university/work (2h a day total). Once I'm home I don't have the time nor the energy to play.

Recently though, I've been able to play at home on the weekends, so that's nice.

I haven't had a consistent work schedule in over 3 years. My current job and some recent ones shift around somewhat in days and time of day I'm working.
I don't game outside of the home really. The most I'll do is sometimes bring my Switch or Vita somewhere if I'm pet sitting.
I am more evening heavy for gaming as I like the time to focus if I can. It's sometimes hard for me to focus on gaming if I have an afternoon work shift or responsibility.

Life?!...What console is that on?

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

No routine. Just game when I feel like it

I am self-employed, work from home and rarely put in more than a couple hours a day, so finding time is pretty easy. The only issue I have is with the length of modern games. I don't know if it's because I cut my teeth on 8/16-bit games, but man... some of these things just go on, and on, and on. It's really hard for me to commit to one single game for a month or more.
