[Weekly Software & Hardware Sales] 'Pokémon: A Pokémon Adventure' takes the top spot for the third consecutive week! 'Pokémon: Crimson Desert', which has sold over 3 million copies worldwide, and the download card versions of 'Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen' also rank high [March 16th - March 22nd]

Famitsu's sales rankings. This time, we bring you a summary of estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from March 16th to March 22nd, 2026 in Japan. In its third week since release, Pokemon Pokopia continues to perform well. This week it has sold over 110,000 units, securing the top spot for the third consecutive week.

Coming in at number 2 is the open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert. This latest title from Pearl Abyss has reportedly sold over 3 million units worldwide in just four days since its release. Domestic physical sales in its first week also reached 31,108 units, indicating a strong start.

Following these, we see titles like Monster Hunter Stories 3 in its second week of release and Mario kart world, a regular in the top 10. But one title that deserves attention is Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf Green (download card version), this is the Nintendo Switch version of a title released for the Game Boy Advance in 2004. Although it is a download-only title, the download card version has also shown strong sales by reaching 7th place in its fourth week of release.

Pokopia and Mario Tennis are holding up pretty well!

Pokopia declined 1-2 % at retail from week 2 to week 3, and its topping Japan's eshop charts as well, which means Pokopia is quickly speeding towards 2M sales in Japan. Pokopia could achieve 4M shipped WW at the end of March depending on the size of digital sales in western markets.

Pokopia + Mario Movie = we’re gonna see some huge numbers these next two weeks, aren’t we? NS2 has had a insane run in JP! Very strong CY’25 and somehow an even stronger CY’26. Curious to see if this is translating WW.

I don't ever recalling such a hold for a game on the Famitsu charts. This has to be a rare occurrence.

Mario Tennis Fever seems pretty promising as well, had a very low launch for a Nintendo game in Japan but its now on its way to above 100k and counting, could end up being a solid release for Nintendo.
