Forums - Sales - Résident Evil Requiem : sales per platforms

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch2/comments/1rmp4u8/resident_evil_requiem_might_have_sold_between/

According to Alinea Analytics, the estimated sales across all platforms are:

  • Steam – 2.3 million
  • PS5 – 1.6 million
  • Switch 2 – Between 800k and 1 million
  • Xbox Series X/S – 300k

Very good numbers for the Switch 2, despite its smaller installed base compared to the other platforms (the system isn’t even a year old yet).

Stop 👏 Using 👏 Alinea 👏 Analytics 👏

I wouldn’t bet on it. Alinea is still very new on the scene and IIRC, their process on making these estimates is a flawed one. Primarily looking at store reviews.

Even Chris Dring doesn’t have a full picture. He claimed PS5 had the most Requiem sales, only to clarify he only had data for Europe and Japan.

Yeah Dring's estimate is probably incorrect (and confusing) too, as I think he underestimtes the China factor for PC, assuming he thinks PS5 won globally.

It's going to be PC > PS5 >>> Xbox > Switch 2. Switch 2 version may beat Xbox in the long run but it's not coming close to PS5, let alone PC.

I would be surprised if those are actually switch 2 numbers. Impressive if true though.

Very likely not remotely true. SteamDB lists a further three:

Digital or physical or combined? I'd like to see the break down. I know on PS5, physical has been sold out for awhile.

I wouldn't use that data

Based on real figures it's hard to believe Switch performed twice as good as Xbox. In the UK physical Xbox was ahead of Switch, given how digital Xbox is driven that was probably a large performance difference in that market when also taking digital into account.

UK would probably roughly reflect Europe with a little bit of balance in Switches direction in places like Spain/france, and US would be Xbox driven even if Switch put up a good fight. Japan would contribute around 50-60k towards Switches total but I can't see a situation where Switch would suddenly sell 2x Xbox numbers.

Looks like complete rubbish. The PC and PS5 numbers are probably vaguely correct, but those Switch 2 and Xbox numbers do not look correct at all.
