Forums - Sony - Horizon Hunters Gathering, a live service Horizon spinoff, announced for PS5 and PC

Didn't see a thread for this despite being a significant announcement; the game is a multiplayer live service game set in the Horizon universe and developed by series mainstay Guerrilla Games. No release date yet.

More Sony live trash.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Looks very cartoony compared to single player Horizon, wonder if that was done to make season passes cheaper to make

The world belongs to you-Pan America

I'm in. I like cartoons, Horizon and the machines look great in that style so that's enough for me. I don't care if people want to compare it with fortnite for how it looks, I don't play fortnite and I also don't care if people play fortnite or not so I don't see that comparison as a decrement to what I see.

I like the general concept of a co-op multiplayer game set in the Horizon universe and the visual style looks good to me, but I have a feeling that since it's a live service game I just won't have the time to actually play it, nor do I want to spend any money to buy stuff like season passes or microtransactions to unlock things in the game. If it is just an online multiplayer game, then I'll probably skip it.

It just screams 'we want to make money with an online experience' after concord/highguard and Marathon soon people are getting tired of it or just want it to fail, some because they are haters but most of them because they wished it was just a single player horizon game (that maybe has an online part with it).

Looks fun. Looks better than Concord so maybe it'll do better?

It looks very well made, with high quality production values. They maybe should have went with a more anime inspired art style as that seems to be more accepted these days. Anything that looks like this now gets labelled as a “Fortnite ripoff” even though the visual identity is very different from Fortnite.

Find someone who looks at you the way Sony looks at Horizon.

It might be good but there's a lot of negative sentiment for new live service games that it will have to overcome. If people don't give it a chance it doesn't matter how well made it is.
