Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Switch 2 [MKWorld Bundle] Discontinued (Allegedly)

What will take MarioKart World’s place in 2026?

2D/3D Mario 1 20.00%

2D/3D Zelda 2 40.00%

Splatoon 4 or Splatoon Raiders 0 0%

Animal Crossing 0 0%

Super Smash Bros Six 0 0%

Luigi’s Mansion 4 0 0%

Other 2 40.00%

Total:5

I’ll need to look further into the strength of this report, but as it stands right now, it appears that Nintendo plans on discontinuing the most popular NS2 SKU with the conclusion of Fall 2025.

The decision would be consistent with Nintendo’s claims that the bundle would be a limited time offer.

Annnnd just like that, we now have reason to believe there’s a mega-hitter release dropping from Nintendo next calendar year. I suspect Nintendo is planning to do this sort of pack-in bundle with each of their newest releases (specifically the one(s) with high casual appeal).

Mario Kart World will probably be brought back as a bundle for the holiday season most years like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
I'm not predicting a game in particular that will be a bundle in 2026 because nothing announced yet is big enough.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Yeah, MK8 was their switch bundle basically every Black Friday. I bet they'll just do the same with Switch 2.

I don't think we're going to see them doing similar pack-in bundles on the scale of the MKW bundle.

It's hard to call this a pack-in or a bundle when it's just a code. Those phrases were invented when we actually got real, physical media in the box. I don't know what they're suppose to call it, but pack-in and bundle is not it. lol

It’s a console bundled with the game. Yeah it’s not a physical cartridge you’re receiving, but you are still receiving the digital copy of the game…? Do you mean to tell me that people who purchased a NS2 (MKWorld Edition) never received a copy of MKWorld just because it’s not coming in the form of a physical cartridge??

Yeah we haven't seen the last of this sucker, expect it to come back every holidays season for the rest of Switch 2's life, just like last gen.

Going forwards, bundling heavy hitters could be a good way to push console sales; maybe a Pokopia bundle, or the rumoured Pokémon Wind/Waves next year, the next Animal Crossing when it arrives, etc.

In Japan a Splatoon Raiders bundle could be huge.

Good. Was the bundle really "more popular" or just shipped in greater numbers?

As others said, the bundles will return in black friday and/or the holiday season.

Confirmed.

In the UK with the discounts, it can be found as low as just £23 more than the standalone model currently in some stores. A lot less than the £67+ it'll be for MKW when the stock runs out. Going to be £450+ to get the console and game next year.
