Forums - Nintendo - Popular Nintendo YouTuber, Lamar Wilson, passes away at age 48

This is such terrible news. :( I used to watch him alongside Dashie during the early days of Switch.

Please always look after yourself and others. Every life is precious.

Ah man, now I’m reminded of Etika and CND— both Nintendo YouTubers I was obsessed with during the first couple years of Switch. The latter is doing a lot better now, but he went through a really rough period. The former… well… I think we all remember that story. What’s going on with all these content creators & mental health?

Didn't knew him, but nobody deserves to die like that, and so young.

RIP

Damn, this remember me about other Nintendo Youtuber "Etika", in the case of the Etika I was a regular viewer (joycon boy) since 2014 when Smash for WiiU was launched, and when he passed away (june, 2019), I was devasted for weeks, even today I use the Etika Reddit.

About Lamar, I wasn't a viewer, but I know how awful is lose someone that you developed a certain personal "connection" (of course, not reciprocated lol) and who wasn't just an influencer, but someone you shared your time watching regularly. Of course, my condolences to his family.

It's speculation but, you see the same thing traditionally with musicians, which is also entertainment. Perhaps there is something deeper behind wanting to be famous, to be loved, to be adored by people, and whatever that thing is, it can't be cured with external means.

Did not know he was considered a Nintendo Youtuber. I knew of him as he has collaberated with many channels over the years. Way back when I used to watch Twit.TV he was on there a few times. King of unboxing or something along those lines. Just shows some people are good at putting on a front but suffering silently. RIP man.
