Forums - Gaming Discussion - Fortnite was played more than FIFA, CoD, GTA V and Roblox combined last month.

"Console users reportedly spent over 1.6 billion hours playing Fortnite in December 2023.

The total is greater than the combined amount of time console owners spent playing Call of Duty HQ (Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone), EA Sports FC 24, Grand Theft Auto V/Online and Roblox last month, according to research firm Ampere Analysis."

Note that is Console only so not including hours on PC/Mobile for Fortnite and the other titles. Absolutely insane how big Fortnite is.

To put that number of 1.6 billion hours into perspective it would take over 51 million people on console playing 1 hour every day in december to reach that total.

No type of competitive shooters had as much impact as it did on gaming as a whole since it released with the Battle Royale mode. Any attempt at something brand new which copies it from near or far can't simply compete with it.

Honestly, it'll either die by itself of fatigue or along the way a brand new experience will captivate this same huge audience to shift to another game at some point.

Lego Fortnite was a huge sucess, so it makes sense.

51mil people playing an hour everyday could just as well be 1mil people playing 51hr per day. Putting this into perspective…that 1.6bil hour total seems a little low?

So my take on this is firebush03 who by spending 51 hrs trawling through the James Webb telescope database has discovered that there's a planet somewhere in the galaxy with a 51 hour day that is home to a million Fortnite players thus creating scientific history, apparently this achievement was down to his intimate  knowledge of the mixtures (made of mostly foul elements) that are unique to Fortnite, after factoring in strength and decay along with peaks and troughs using both data sets this conclusion is irrefutable, but raises a lot of questions about the origins of Fortnite since when gathering that information we are essentially looking back in time, and no I'm not going to go the the multitude of probable explanations since  my head hurts thinking about it .

So why is Epic Games Store still struggling to compete with Steam, if Fortnite is this popular?
