You are right that it isn’t FFVII gameplay.

It’s FFVII Remake gameplay.

Funny how you’re confusing remaster with remake.

Remaster - take the game you had a basically just upping the graphics. (see FF8)

Remake - remaking the game to modern standards. (See Crash)

FF7 "Remake" - change everything but the characters.

You have a narrow vision of what a remake is.

And for all intent and purposes, Crash is a remaster. It is a collection of the exact same games, with a visual face lift. Same as FF VIII which had his character models updated, among other things.

remake(Noun)

A new version of something.

remake(Noun)

A new, especially updated, version of a film, video game, etc.

FFVIIR is indeed a new, updated version of FFVII.

You basically admit that all you wanted was a facelift.
Get the steam version and look for the mods that will fulfill your needs.

You go get your remaster. The rest of us will enjoy a remake.

And you have a rather broad one. I understand why you like it and like I said, it has good gameplay. Yet that doesn't stop me wanted a remake that has all the things this does have but with gameplay that is closer to the original (Seriously 'Stagger' from FF13? That made it in). Random battles? Good, they are gone, sign of the times, not needed. Fixed 3D pre-rendered scenes? Gone, good, sign of the times. Expanding the way you explore is part of the remake of modern standards.  Games have better environments now so including such a feature would be stupid, allowing your character to explore an environment is a great way to expand the game. Old chibi character models? Gone, good, we have technology to redender characters and facial movements to a superb degree. Sound? Music re-imagined while keep with it's original feeling and concept, voice acting added, giving life to the characters. Great, good, nice addition. All good.

This battle system? Which isn't like FF7 even when the game is advertised as such? Not for me. Slap it in FF16 and I'm all over it. Your reaction to me wanting FF7 made to modern standards listed above but with a battle system closer to what I enjoy(ed)? "Go play the original or remaster."

Thanks, nice advice, I'll put that with the other 753 times people have told me.

Hmm, pie.

If you wouldn’t complain so much about it, despite the game not going to change no matter how often you complain, maybe that 753 count wouldn’t be as high.

I'm expecting this to hit 90-92 Metacritic and sell 7-10 million across PS4 and PS5 alone (depending on whether it gets a special port or just be played through BC).

Part 2 (where the world hopefully opens up) will be phenomenal!

Part 1 will sell 10 million before ps5 launch. My friends haven't owned any gaming system since the ps1 but they are buying a ps4 mainly for this game and the resident evil 2 and 3 remakes. I also have never been this hyped for a game before.

Oh yes, absolutely this will do more than 10 million before the PS5 releases. Hell, a lackluster game like FFXV managed to do 5 million worldwide first week so I feel this is no problem for FFVII. It can do 7 million in one week...

Finally broke down and played it. Pre-ordered instantly.
