The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console worldwide with 1,149,723 consoles sold for the week ending December 7, according to VGChartz estimates. This week includes sales from Cyber Monday.

The PlayStation 4 was the second best-selling console with sales of 523,699 consoles sold, followed by the Xbox One with 313,364 units, the 3DS with 18,526 units, and the PlayStation Vita with just 41 units.

Switch sales compared to the same week a year ago are down 88,444, however, last year saw the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. PlayStation 4 sales are down 218,585 units and the Xbox One is down 25,028 units. The main reason the Xbox One isn't down as much as the other consoles is due to the heavily discounted bundles and Cyber Monday was a week earlier last year.

There were adjustments made to the figures from Black Friday as we got more data in from Europe. All 3 main platforms were adjusted up, however, the Switch was adjusted up the most.

Good to see all 3 consoles numbers for last week were adjusted up! Though this makes for an exceptionally sharp drop for PS4 this week.

Bar any downwards adjustments, Switch has held up remarkably well YoY in Smash week, and actually has a very good chance of being up YoY for december.

Switch leapfrogs X1 and now heads towards the SNES milestone.

And thus, the Xbox One has been overcome. Next up, the SNES milestone.

I'm writing up the Switch outselling the Xbox One article as I am typing this. It should be up in the next 30 minutes.

Sales are down in Japan compared to Smash launch, however, the little bit of data we have is showing sales are up a fair amount in North America. Obviously as more figures come in adjustments could always be made.

Another milli week for Switch

And so it happened, the Switch overtakes Xbox One never to look back.

The Nintendo Switch has outsold the worldwide sales of the Xbox One, according to our estimates.

The Nintendo Switch sold 1,149,723 units for the week ending December 7, 2019 to bring its lifetime sales to 45.92 million units worldwide. This compares to the Xbox One with sales of 45.24 million units.

The Switch launched worldwide about three years and four months after the Xbox One. The Switch launched worldwide on March 3, 2017, while the Xbox One launched on November 22, 2013 in the west and September 4, 2014 in Japan.

I can't believe how fast you are to publish new numbers. It's like numbers from 4 days ago... very impressed by your work, trunks. Thank you very much.
