Hopefully its them finally revealing the game, not a remake or something like that.

I expect that Borderlands 3 will lean heavily into the Destiny/Division games as service type design which sadly makes me less inclined to buy it since i am not a big online-multiplayer fan
Nothing to see here, move along
Their one trick is getting old, either announce it already or don't, it's one game for fuck's sake.

Supposedly Gearbox considered a multiplayer loot shooter similar to Destiny/Anthem/The Division, even going as far as to copyright the name Borderworlds, which was expected to be the name of the game, but recent leaks suggest that Borderworlds was either cancelled or put on hold, with their next game being a proper singleplayer/co-op focused Borderlands 3. The 4 playable classes have already shown up in a leak, and they seem to be set characters, not fully customizeable characters like you would expect from a multiplayer loot shooter.
Well they are incredibly late to the party, so they better announce it in March and launch it a few months later.
In 2020 it will be pretty much dead on arrival.
What took them so long? I feel like this game should have been announced ages ago.

Well, it didn't actually enter development until January 2015, more than 2 years after Borderlands 2 released, because Gearbox was busy with other projects, such as Battleborn, Homeworld Remastered, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. It's rumored that it was supposed to be announced last E3, but the announcement got delayed at the last minute because they were having trouble with the AI for the the pets for the pet class and had to come up with new AI tech to get the pets to work properly.
