Don't know if most of you know this but the upcoming Ubisoft game Trials Rising has a open Beta out currently until the 25th. Share your thoughts if you have tried it (include the system too)!

I played it on the Switch and I must say, the resolution appears to be pretty low and the framerate was pretty terrible in that first level. I did not have much issue with the framerate after that first level. From my time with the game, its a whole lot of fun. I haven't tried this series since the flash days so its great to see how far its come. There was a lot of content in this demo (like over 10 levels), they just keep giving them to you! Level design seems pretty on point and I like how there are a lot of check points. Though some of the check points where to close to ramps making them really hard to clear. But the settings look pretty cool (even with the grainy look). I haven't quite picked up on the in air control completely, it feels very inconsistent to me. Sometimes its very sensitive, other times its not. It didn't stop me from having fun, but something just feels a bit off.

Sadly there are loot boxes in this game. I let out the loudest sigh when I got my first level up, miles well make this game free if your gonna jam it with microtransactions. It appears to only be for outfits and emotes that I don't care about, so whatever. I also like that you get to race against other players ghosts, which was pretty cool. The online boards are also cross platform, so you'll never rank very high :P

Overall I had a lot of fun with this game, I can't wait to get it when it releases. I just hope they improve the framerate and resolution by launch (in 2 days). I might wait a little while to give them time to make those changes though.

Tried the online mode, where you race against real people on the same single player tracks and it was very fun facing in sets of 3 tracks against 8 people. Sadly this mode is not cross play and lobbies are already not filling up. But trials rising appears to have a ton of content to play through and a lot of replay value. It appears they give you missions to do on every level along with trying to gold star them. There is also a track editor and downloader to play community levels in the main game. I can see myself sinking well over 20 hours into he final game. I'm excited.

I played in on the Switch until the demo suggested pre ordering the game, then I checked it on the eshop to find that there is 2 versions to pick from, the 30e base game and then the 40e deluxe game... so I'm already thinking if I pay 30e I'm not getting the full game experience, then on top of that I was thinking that there's loot boxes so the buying doesn't stop at 40e as I guess the levels up are going to slow down pretty fast once you get passed the first 10 levels or so, it was already taking a couple of events to get a box by the end of the demo.

The thing that killed it for me though was that by the end of the attempted push of purchase though was when I went to go back to the game and got a fairly shitty reminder that if I didn't pre order the game and pay right now I would miss out on 2 items which were pre order bonus's and I'd be missing out if I didn't shell out the full 40 right there and then without waiting to find the reviews. That was the end of me having the beta on my Switch, either go down the route of Free to play games loaded with micro transactions or charge 30 or 40 for your games, at the point where you ask me for both I just check out right there. I love paladins because that's a free game which doesn't bug too much for cash but offers all the game for free if you want it.. I've played it a ton and spent real money on in game items twice now.

Still though, impressions of the game was.... I thought the game was okay, but the Ubisoft trying to nickle and dime me fairly hard during the beta was just already too much and I wanted out from that by the end of the demo.

Fancy hearing me on an amateur podcast with friends gushing over one of my favourite games? https://youtu.be/1I7JfMMxhf8

Damn I wasn't aware. Seems I missed it. Would've given it a go because it looks like a return to a more traditional Trials experience, so I'm considering purchasing it.

Seemed very basic to me and i already own one called Urban Trials playground, which was cheaper and felt very similar. Pass from me.

This could have been a excellent portable game for Switch.
Too bad the game seems badly optimized and the framerate imo is not acceptable for a 2019 release.

Title reads Trails, please correct it if you can.

The loot crates seem to only be cosmetics so it didn't bother me that much. But I certain can attain that I'm not to happy they are there. But I could really care less how "cool" my avatar looks. I wished the let us just buy them from a store, so we can get the ones we want. Not go through a gambling-like system.

I enjoyed the beta on Switch. I didn't have any issues with the performance or framerate at all - overall very playable. Graphically I feel like it's fine - on the TV it might look more like an Xbox 360 version of this game rather than PS4/X1. And the game is fun, but not earth shatteringly different from other Trials games. Really you're getting something like Excitebike and the minecart levels in DKC. Good times.

HD rumble feels like a big missed opportunity on this game.

Probably will look for a sale on this game.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
