So, I know a lot of people are bullish on Switch. I get it. The system looks to recreate some of the mistakes of WiiU and 3DS. The console and accessories cost too much. Online paywalls suck.

But, look. A new console launch doesn't happen every day. It's an exciting time for the industry and for fans. It's something new. Maybe it's a new way to play or experience a game. Maybe it's the reappearance of a long-forgotten game or IP. Maybe it's an excuse to try out wacky things, like that Arms game.

So please use this thread as a place to share your enthusiasm for the newness of the Switch, for the games you want to buy, and for the games you hope will arrive. Share how you plan to use the Switch — at home, on trips, on commutes, with friends, with family, or some weird way we haven't imagined yet

Surely there are folks excited for Switch, Zelda, Splatoon, Xenoblade, Mario Kart, Fire Emblem, Super Mario, etc. Surely some of you have pre-ordered and are eager to share your excitement, but maybe feel bullied by all the negativity surrounding the press conference.

Here's your chance! Put the joy back in Joy-Con. Sorry, couldn't help myself

As someone who cried when Genichiro Tenryu retired I want Thunder Ryu as a boss this time!

I'm mostly exited for the games.
I've rarely been hyped for a game as I am for Breath of the Wild. Both this and Super Mario Odyssey look truly beautiful and refreshing. And Splatoon 2 looks like it is going to make this great online shooter even more fun!

Aside from the games, I'm very interested in the different ways of playing. I'd like to play with just the two joycons in my hand.

For me...

1) Continued focus on local multiplayer
The Switch actually lauches with two controllers. It's been a while since that happened. Part of the reason I've always been drawn to Nintendo is local mp options. I love playing Mario Kart and Smash Bros. and Runbow with friends and family in the same room.

2) Super Mario Odyssey
It's impossible not to get excited for a new Super Mario game, especially one as ambitious as Odyssey. Maybe this game will scratch the itch Banjo-Tooie left all those years ago.

3) Xenoblade Chronicles 2
It's no secret how much I adore Xenoblade Chronicles. It's the only game from the 7th gen in my top 10. So a sequel is cause for celebration.

4) Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers
I grew up on SFII on SNES. I would play my older brother all the time, and he would demolish me all the time. This looks like an awesome homage to that ground-breaking game.

5) Breath of the Wild
I've played hundreds and hundreds of games. My top 10 is pretty locked in. But when I look at footage from BotW, I see a game that could disrupt my ranking and maybe even take the top slot. I have the highest of hopes for this title

Super Mario Odyssey + SMT + Xenoblade 2.

From the announced stuff? Region Free, Mario Odyssey, SMT and Square JRPG's and maaaaybe Arms. Splatoon 2 will be useless when they decide to lock online behind a paywall, I already have Mario Kart 8 and will buy Zelda for Wii U, so those don't count.

I want to see something really creative with the Joy Cons.

Xenoblade 2 looks more like some kind of generic Capcom/Namco anime license game. It will probably be good, but it isn't what I was hoping for. It doesn't look like a Xenoblade game, or a Xeno-anything game. It might not be for me, I might find it offensive.

Mario Odyssey was blah. It will probably be awesome, but the trailer didn't show anything interesting. It lacks the creative dream-like brilliance of Super Mario Galaxy. Why can't Nintendo just make Super Mario Galaxy 3?
