Forums - Nintendo Discussion - NX launch line-up if or, let's be honest, when it releases this year?

The only thing I'm confident in is the NX having some kind of launch game minigame-collection in the vein of Wii Sports or Nintendo Land. Those have proven to be quite profitable.

Not exactly sure if they want to go in this route. Nintendo Land proved that the wrong minigame collection cannot help a console, even less with a big drought. I'm expecting something like Miitomo, or a link to Miitomo (hehe you got it, a link to the past-a link to Miitomot, yeah, yeah!-I sucks) but nothing like Wii Sports or Nintundu Land.

I was looking at Wii U's launch lineup and it only had 2 first party titles, so i don't know why NX would be much different? I can see Zelda U being a launch title, along with Final Fantasy XIV, Dragon Quest XI, New Mario Sports game or a 3D Mario platformer and some ports of 8th gen games like, i don't know, Fallout 4 and Assassin's Creed Syndicate?

Because weak launch titles are one of reasons why Wii U failed and Nintendo knows they need much stronger launch lineup, because Wii U was the first HD console and they had lots a problems with HD development that affected on delays, because some unannounced Wii U games are definitely moved to NX.

They're both their perspective console's best-selling games. Whether they want or they don't want to go that route, there will definitively be a minigame-game collection thingy.

At least be thankful we won't probably have to endure Wii Play anymore.

Mario Kart, Pikmin 4, 3D Mario and a Zelda U port if hybrid. If home console only Zelda U port and Pikmin 4

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Monkey Ball NX, Mario Kart 9, Luigi Sunshine, Donkey Kong Maker, Mario [NFL] Football, F-Zero NX, Wave Race, Contra NX, Zombie2, Toad's Awesome Trek.

You act like zelda takes five years to develop, when 3 years is the standard.

I act like Zelda U will have released 5 years after SS, which released 5 years after TP (4 years after WW), because that's the case.

The amiibo tie-in game could fill that role, though I hope it's more like Nintendo Land a.k.a. a real game and not a tech demo like Wii Sports.

Two exceptional situations don't makew a rule. There's no reason the next zelda will take 5 years.

It´s been 20 years since the last time a Nintendo system had a brand new 3D Mario at launch (the revolutionary Mario 64 way back in 1996).Time to change that.

If they have Zelda for launch and possibly Smash Brothers too ... I think even if they could also have Mario at launch, they'll probably in that case hold off Mario.

Better to have to Mario in the dreaded post-launch drought period, you don't need to blow your wad on the launch.

I think Smash Brothers could be more than just a Wii U port too, IMO it would make more sense to release a Smash All-Stars/Collection type deal with Brawl and Melee also included with upgraded graphics. MS did it with Halo Collection and Sony did it with Uncharted Collection. That moves it from being a "port" to being something that likely is a bigger system mover.

Legend of Zelda - November 16

Smash Bros. Collection - December 16

Super Mario NX - March 2017

Makes more sense than having all three jammed together within 6 weeks of each other or something.

I see Smash more in February- March 2017 and Mario NX at launch, to fill the gaps.

2 ports for launch would be bad. Zelda HD and Mario NX seems like a more interesting launch.

Zelda isn't really a "port" from a consumers POV, it's a brand new game. I mean Nintendo could even do what they did with Twilight Princess and make the NX version come out first. I think Zelda + Mario in the launch window might be overkill. You probably are better off spacing them out, I'm assuming there will be other NX titles here too like say Diddy Kong Racing NX or whatever Retro's games is to think about also.
