Forums - Gaming Discussion - This may be an old topic, but Operation Kos-Mos was a failure. What does this mean to you?

Based on this, http://gearnuke.com/katsuhiro-harada-gives-update-xenosaga-hd-collection/ , #OperationKosMos is officially a failure, so what does this mean for the future of Xenosaga? Would it even be beneficial for them to release it with the game struggling to reach 10,000 people who even want it released?

What do you predict about the future of Xenosaga HD? Is it dead in the water, or do you think we will see it sometime in the future?

Well, based in the fact that Monolith won't work on the series in the future, it is safe to say that the saga is dead, and the only thing we can expect is an HD Collection, maybe tied in to a Nintendo console if Harada still wants the involvement of Monolith Soft, and Nintendo consider it for filling gaps and expanding offers for Jrpg's on their consoles.

They dont need Monolith to continue the Xeno series. There are many rpg series that live on without the series original team/head members.

Maybe if enough people pirate the PS2 Xenosaga games, they will see the torrent numbers, recognise the potential of the series and make at least a PS2 port on modern systems?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

True, but Harada has expressed desire to work with Monolith Soft again on Xenosaga (even with them being at Nintendo). But, looking at the demand for the game, I think it'd pretty much be a waste of money to do it. It'd be great if they did release Xenosaga HD, to get an accurate number of exactly who would still be interested in the series. Yet again though, I think it'll pretty much be another case of Nintendo resurrecting another niche project.... Well, time will tell.

It's because the subtitles are in German. Change then to English and we would have supported it more.

Makes sense, lol.

But wouldn't most of the people who want it have it pirated?

I never understood why this didn't happen. It wouldn't have been all that crazy to use resources from XCX and put them towards Xenosaga. Both even used the same art style. I really think that it wouldn't have been that tough of a project.

Such sad :(:( my pc can't emulate it.
