I feel like Super Mario Maker will basically kill any legs that NSMU has left, but I don't know if Super Smash Bros has it in it to catch up, especially with the NX most likely coming next year.  I feel like it will get close, but won't be able to pass it.

Not sure but I think smash bros sales have flat lined so probably not.

Yes, it will.

However it won't pass neither Nintendoland nor Super Mario 3D World, and the underdog
is Splatoon, which could pass Smash.

It should be able to, since NSMB U will be shadowed by Super Mario Maker, but there still is a chance that it may not

I think SSB for Wii U woudl surpass NSMBU. And SMM would surely catch up on NSLU based on that list.
