That will be circumvented. Hackers have already made some inroads into Wii U, they'll crack the region lock eventually, like they did with Wii.

They said that 6 months after launch and outside of managing to make a PC stream to the gamepad I haven't heard anything. Although it would be nice to break region lock I have to believe in itagaki and hope its coming to the west soon. If not its the greatest crime the suits and Nintendo have ever done.

Sigh. If the movie comes and goes without release then they should go ahead with this translation. If the people who want to play this game buy the jap version and then use a fan translation it could hurt potential western sales causing Nintendo to rethink even releasing fatal frame games outside japan.

I didn't realise the Wii U had homebrew to support a fan translation. I played Fatal Frame 4 with a fan translation on Wii though

At this point Nintendo has given no sign that they're even considering releasing it in the West.
