So it strikes me that, now over two years since it's release, we here in Europe are no closer to being able to use Nintendo TVii. Indeed, checking the official site provides you with the notice:

"We would like to apologise that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned."

So, what's happened? At this point it's pretty unlikely we will ever get the service here in the UK, but are we really missing out on anything? It was one of the features I was looking forward to the most with the system...but now it's just a dead icon.

It doesn't work properly for me anymore in the US. It worked pretty cool last year, but now my home screen just has a list of random TV shows and some sports with no options to change or choose anything.

If your into sports, there were some really cool interactive features to chat with other viewers etc. I'm thinking Nintendo felt outdone in this department and choose to simply drop the ball.

They probably have numbers on how much it's used. It's poor, so they don't bother. It's a really slow program that I stopped using after the first day. Or whatever TV companies in euorpe, wants more money than what Nintendo offers.

"Mii"sing in action. Lol. Jokes aside I think they have scrapped the idea for releasing other regions.

Now that's a pun I'll need to include somewhere. Perhaps Nintendo could turn it into a minigame or something too.

I imagine that if the Wii U had been a big success (along with the app itself), they would still be advertising it now. But the Wii U isn't doing very well and I kind of doubt that the app did very well due to people buying Wii U's mostly for the games itself.

I find it hard to believe it was the feaure you were looking forward to the most with the Wii U.

But you are missing basically a live forum for tv watching. It is linked to mobile devices so there are actually a lot of people on it. I use it while watching the walking dead todraw funny faces on the cast.

It wasn't my most anticipated feature, but it was up there. Along with using the Gamepad in my bedroom and playing splitscreen without a splitscreen.
