Pikmin 3 currently stands at 0.81m, its predecessor stopped at 1.20m.

Can Pikmin 3 sell another 390k to pass its prequel in sales?

The real question is: do its sales warrant a sequel?



I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

And I have no idea if it will pass it or not. If we count the digital sales from the MK8 promotion, I think it already might have. Without those, I don't think it will. So sad...

The weekly sales are already sub 2000 units ...

Barring this holiday's software sales boost at this rate it will never outsell Pikmin 2 based off the situation stated above.

That's why I didn't include digital sales, cos that would complicate things.  And VGChartz doesn't track them anyway.

Actually, is this number real? I mean retail and digital? And the MK8 promo?

I think it has already passed one 1 million. So, it will def pass that if it hasn't till now.

The 0.81m number is counting boxed copies only, no digital.

That is good actually. I am sure it has done good digital. 2 of my friends have downloaded on eshop.

The real sales must have exceeded one million. Or it must be REALLY close to it. 

BTW I need to pick up my copy of the game. Tried the demo and had a good time.
