After their success at E3 2014, it seems Nintendo is not going to go back to the traditional style of E3 presentation any time soon. Their new format of a Nintendo Direct and live footage spread throughout a couple of days seems to have worked really well, and even now I'm left wondering how they can feasibly top this year's presentation.

However, I do not think that even 2014 was the best E3 Nintendo's ever had. Although Nintendo had some disappointing conferences towards the end (2008, 2011, 2012, etc.), I think that one of their latter E3's was probably the best they ever had: E3 2010.

Let's review the games first announced, revealed, or otherwise shown in those roughly 80 minutes on stage and the show floor, shall we?

Wii

  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • Metroid: Other M
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns
  • Kirby's Epic Yarn
  • Epic Mickey
  • Goldeneye 007
  • Just Dance 2
  • Sonic Colors
  • NBA Jam
  • Wii Party
  • Mario Sports Mix
  • Conduit 2

DS

  • Dragon Quest 9
  • Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light
  • Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
  • Super Scribblenauts
  • Omaiden
  • Rune Factory 3
  • Etrian Odyssey 3
  • Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

3DS

  • Orignal 3DS Hardware (Inclusing Streetpass and Spotpass, albeit in unnamed forms)
  • Kid icarus: Uprising
  • Ocarina of Time 3D
  • nintendogs + cats
  • Animal Crossing
  • Mario Kart
  • Kingdom Hearts 3D
  • Pilotwings Resort
  • Dead or Alive
  • Professor Layton 5
  • Star Fox 64 3D
  • Ridge Racer 3D
  • Paper mario
  • Resident Evil: Revelations
  • Metal Gear Solid 3D
  • Steel Diver
  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
  • Chocobo Racing 3D
  • DJ Hero

Even though some of these games ultimately disappointed (Other M, Epic Mickey, etc.) or were cancelled (DJ Hero for 3DS), I think they were very impressive looking and exciting back in 2010.

What do you think? Which E3 do you think Nintendo did better during, if any?

E3 2006 was the best. The full unveiling of the revolution. They curbstomped Sony and Microsoft that year.

That was 2005. 2006 was Miyamoto as conductor with a Wiimote.

2009 was actually the best year for me. They announced Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Monado Beggining of the World (AKA Xenoblade Chronicles), Sin and Punishment 2, Metroid Other M, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Golden Sun Dark Dawn...

Certainly a great E3, that 3ds along with MGS 3D and Donkey Kong Country Returns reveal...

That was 2005. 2006 was Miyamoto as conductor with a Wiimote.

2005 was showing the box and talking a bit about it. 2006 was all about the games.

Ah, ok. I was confused by Revolution because it was Wii in 2006.

My favourite was 2002, terrible presentation, but great games:

Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil Zero, Eternal Darkness, Star Fox Adventures, Animal Crossing, Four Swords Adventures, 1080, F-Zero teaser
And some GBA games like Metroid Fusion, Golden Sun: LA, Ports of ALTTP and Yoshi's Island

Second.

E3 2014 was thier greatest!
