Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So... we have nothing to look forward to this summer from Nintendo?

People say that now, but when the july npd come will be doom and gloom all august. I could say that sucks, but is actually a good thing for me, since i'm really holding on buying a wiiu before a price cut/remodel.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Really surprised that Nintendo doesnt have a single thing for wii u (except wii sports...) in june, july, august and most of september. They realy should've ponied up some money to get a game out soon after Mario Kart to keep some momentum going.

There's One Piece: Unlimited World Red next week and while not retail, I am looking forward to Pullblox (Pushmo) World and Shovel Knight.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Ultra Street Fighter IV
Sniper Elite 3
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Transformers RotDS
UFC
Atelier Rorona Plus: TAoA
Grid Autosport
Last of Us Remastered
Sacred 3
Risen 3
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition
Tales of Xillia 2
Madden 15

This is Sony only June-August, no Vita only games included.  All retail.

Yay for remakes and mediocre games! Yeah, this isn't going to impress anyone I'm afraid. It's quite sad how many remakes are on that list. Not even remakes of old games, but games that just released.

And yet this is still infinitely better than what Nintendo is offering.  The more you try and play down this list the worse the Wii U becomes.

If I include digital only stuff the Wii U becomes worse even still.

There are hardly any remakes on that list, not that there is anything wrong wth remakes anyway, a game remade is essentially a new game.  And it is still better than what Wii U offers.

>Says no remakes on list

>Has Ultra Street Fighter IV, an update to and update to an update of a five year old game.

>Last of Us Remastered, a remake of a game barely a year old.

>Diablo III remake for PS3,4

>Atleriar Rorana remake

>Plants vs Zombies:GW port

>UFC, yearly update

>Madden yearly update

>Absolutely no exclusives outside LOTU remake

Hey, it's not really infinitely better if the list consists of games I have no desire to play... which is exactly the way I personally would describe that list.

Strongly disagree. It's better to have something than absolutely nothing, since at least that way there's a chance of finding something appealling. Plus, I can guarantee you plety of folks will like one or more things on that list.

When this sort of question arises I have to ask 'what do Sony and M$ have for the coming months?'

Not trying to be defensive, but I honestly dont know of anything releasing on any console within the coming months.

Just because everyone else is doing a bad thing does not make it ok for you to do the same!

I read your comment and get what you are saying, but then I see your display pic and cant keep a straight face.

Hahaha, how long do you need Beiber there for?

Two months!

Once again, I find it hard to believe Azure Striker Gunvolt (3DS) is not in anyone's radar around here... It might not be a retail release, but it certainly has the pedigree to be noteworthy, being developed by the team behind the Mega Man Zero and ZX series.

First trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Wm8-DsVqHE

Hidden Stage gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWo3j5SeSIU

The game is still supposed to come this summer in Japan and North America. (no release date for Europe yet unfortunately)

Yeah, I'm not going into a discussion with someone that thinks remakes and ports of old games are new games.
I'll enjoy Wii U's line-up just fine this year.

"Enhanced port", lol you mean remake right? With no differences aside from some graphical updates.

Enhanced port - A game ported with improvements, such as Last of US..visual improvements, higher definition, framerate improvements, included DLC.

Remake - a game based on one already released, but made ground up entirely new.

If you cannot tell the difference, kindly get off the internet.

Remake: graphical update

Enhanced port: a smaller graphical update

Is that what you're saying? ;)

In both cases it doesn't count as a new game buddy. ;) Unless you haven't played the older game, in which case it is a new game... For just you.
