Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Phil Spencer: Xbone Minecraft can use savegame from 360!

Tagged games:

Considering the massive success of Minecraft on our beloved 360 I think this is really great news for people who already entered or will enter next-gen riding on Xbone!

"After months of teaming up with Mojang, we can confirm that Minecraft X360 Edition will save transfer to Xbox One Edition...more news soon! "

Wow, 1st reply fail at its best.

I'm personally not a fan of the game but good news for fans of the game I guess.

Don't worry about it, its just a back-up downplay reply for any good news for X1 owners.

It's hard for me to even consider it a game sometimes but there is a lot of interest in the game, for sure.

Agreed, but the sales speak for themselves and it's sold a shit ton of units.

Oh, it is a game alright, even in its vanilla form - there is actually endgame, though, unless you are stupidly persistant and/or lucky, chances of stubling upon it without using MC wiki or something simiilar is pretty slim.

That said, most of the fun in MC comes from building stuff (both architecture and engineering-wise), mods and custom maps...I just finished yesterday one 3-4h long Myst-like map, and had more fun with it than with most games lately.

OT: Great news for Xbox fans

So with Minecraft being more known for Xbox on console and with this news of your almost 3 year old saves transferring from 360, would that bring a boost in X1 sales like say Destiny or Watch Dogs for PS4?

I hope that doesn't mean that the Xbox One version will also have the small maps of the 360 version and I really hope that the Xbox One and PS4 version will have stuff like the "hopper" which is very important if you want to build some crazy stuff.

360 and probably PS3 version are nice but there is still so much stuff you simply can't build because of some missing stuff.
