Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do You Prefer Physical Or Digital Games?

So... Physical Or Digital?

Physical 172 78.54%

Digital 32 14.61%

What Are Games? 15 6.85%

Total:219

Both have pluses and minuses.

If a game is installed on my hard-drive, I vastly prefer digital. Switching games without switching discs is nifty. The downside is that I have a slow internet and it can take all night to download a game, so even if I buy a digital game, I can't play it until the next day.

Physical games you can resale but digital sales are usually cheaper so I guess that evens out somewhat.

I guess, really, I don't care that much. The game is the important part, not the medium through which it's delivered.

Digital if it's cheaper. Otherwise, Physical.

Physical, I like the boxes and I just have a sense of security knowing I have a copy on a disc or cart, oh also because Canadian internet is terrible.

For consoles, Physical for one reason only. We shouldn't be forced to eat up all of our hard drive space with no other options since games are going to be gigantic in 5 and 8 years towards the end of a GEN. Buying upgraded harddrives should not be a requirement simply to play a game, which is totally what happened to early adopters of PS3 in 2011-2013 due to PSN titles alone.  Also, I do like to be able to rent games a few times a year.  Sometimes there are games I want to play but I am not going to risk $60 on it until I try it for a couple bucks...

I actually love digital on PC, but loathe it on consoles. I'll go even as far as not buy a game if it's digital only.

Digital. I love not having to worry about losing a game, and not having to switch the physical component to switch games. Also, I am a person who is crazy about saving space. Furthermore, I never resell games anyway.

I prefer digital for the convenience factor but buying physical copies isn't without it's benefits. That's why this gen I'm getting the games I know I'll love (as well as any on sale impulse buys) digitally and get the rest by buying physical or renting through Gamefly.

physical games definitely.

football, soccer, sex is waaaay more fun than uncharted, halo, or mario.

physical unless its ps+ because its free and loading times are quicker, also steam I guess
