Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do You Think X,Bayonetta 2 & Other First Party Titles For The Wii U Will Have Great Sales Or Suffer From Poor Sales ?

Tagged games:

Come to think of it i starting to worried that X,Bayonetta 2 and other first party titles that are coming for the Wii U are gonna have a bad sales. Cause you know why ? Super Mario 3D World didn't sell that much as other mario games in its first week and mario game were known for its system seller for nintendo console. The same thing happened with the Wonderful 101 that suffer from poor sales.

Now let look back at last year. There is another first party titles on the Wii U that is hyped as hell which many people think it could be a system seller for the Wii U and possibly the next big things. That game was called ZombieU that was released by Ubisoft and were only exclusive for the Wii U. With so much anticipatation you thought the game would gonna sell like 2m-4m somewhere around that amount but boy was i wrong. Just take a look at this : http://www.vgchartz.com/game/70793/zombiu/

It not actually that bad for some people but a game with so much hype and high expectation you thought it going to sell more than what i show you in the link.

Is it the lack of third party support one of the reason that nobody wanted to buy the Wii U hence not many were buying Nintendo first party titles ?

I believe i got read some article that Hideki Kamiya stated that if Bayonetta 2 able to sell well than what he expected then it would warrant a sequel. However what if the game sell pretty badly ? Will the franchise be thrown away forever ? Cause if i am not mistaken there is a lot of controversy revolving around Bayonetta 2 shifting to the Wii U cause Nintendo funded it and Sega don't want anything to do with it. Many say that they didn't want to buy a wii u just to play Bayonetta 2 hence one of the sign that the game will suffer from poor sales.

So what do you guys think ?

Bayo 2 is a 3rd party game, but anyway I think Bayo2 and X will sell between 400~600k

Probably. Nintendo could make them sell to a decent sized niche audience if they aggressively add some nice promotions for them though.

Pre-order Bayonetta 2 and get Bayonetta 1 from the eShop for free.

Pre-order X and get Xenoblade HD from the eShop for free.

Also throw in some collectibles for both ... an art book or figurine or something and keep the shipments of the game small so they sell out quickly.

As you have said even excellent first party games are doing bad on the Wii U. I don't expect much in terms of sales from Bayo and X... the only games that may actually bring profits are Mario Kart and Smash bros IMO.

But that's something for Iwata to worry about. Even if they bomb I'm sure I'll enjoy a lot some of the upcoming Wii U games.

Well that would be a great idea to boost some sales but i doubt Nintendo are going to do that but we never know though Hideki Kamiya said that they might release Bayonetta 1 for the Wii U before Bayonetta 2 release but i am not sure if it fake or confirmed.

Both of them are definitely going to flop.

When have Nintendo ever given away stuff for free? No, won't happen. Nintendo is pretty greedy. In to answer OP; both will flop so hard.

It should I guess. I was thinking mostly on the upcoming Wii U games (smash, mk, FExSMT, X, bayo, Donkey kong, yoshi's)
