Generation I started it all with Pokemon Red/Green/Blue/Yellow.
Generation II continued the adventure in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal.
Generation III advanced us to Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and FireRed/LeafGreen.
Generation IV went through time and space to bring us Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and HeartGold/SoulSilver.
Generation V taught us truth and ideals in Black/White and Black 2/White 2.

And now we've reached the 6th Generation of Pokemon, bringing us to Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. The future of Pokemon begins now!

The Kalos Region


The Kalos Region, inspired by Europe (particularly France) is Pokemon X/Y's newest world to explore. In this new world we find new adventures, new challenges, and most important of all... new Pokemon!

Kalos' Cast of Characters

~Our Heroes~

You'll begin your adventure by choosing either Calem (male) or Serena (female). What adventure awaits for these brave young heroes?

~Professor Sycamore~

Professor Sycamore is Kalos' resident Pokemon Professor. Unlike previous professors, the Pokemon that Prof. Sycamore gives you is a blast from the past!

~Your Best Friends and Rivals~

Calem/Serena's core group of friends. Not only will they accompany you on traveling across the Kalos region, but they'll even give you your first Pokemon!

~Team Flare~

The dastardly (and fabulous!) Team Flare is up to no good. It's your job to stop them!

~Your New Best Friend~

You'll begin your adventure by choosing either Chespin (Grass), Fennekin (Fire), or Froakie (Water).

~The Very Essences of Life and Destruction Collide~

The Kalos Region brings with it legends of old, with the Life Pokemon Xerneas and the Destruction Pokemon Yveltal.

Kalos is full of new Pokemon to discover. It's up to you to find them all!

~A Fully 3D World~

For the first time in a mainline Pokemon game, you'll explore and battle in full 3D. Not only that, but Pokemon battles take advantage of the 3DS' 3D feature!

~The Fairy Type Emerges~

For the first time since Pokemon Gold/Silver, a new Pokemon type has been unleashed. Dragon, Fighting, and Dark types beware, the Fairy type is on the scene!

~Mega Evolutions~

If you thought Pokemon were powerful before, you ain't seen nothing yet! Mega Evolutions take Pokemon to the next level.

~Super Training~

EV Training just got a lot simpler with Super Training. Play these mini games to enhance your Pokemon's stats.

~Pokemon-amie~

Enhance your relationship with your beloved Pokemon with this new feature. As you grow in your bond your Pokemon will fight even harder for you.

~Pokemon Bank~

Pokemon Bank and PokeTransporter are the newest (and easiest) ways to transfer your Pokemon between games and even generations.

~New Generation, New Matchups~

A new generation means new tactics and strategies. Study hard trainer, it'll take all you've got to be a Pokemon master!

I'm so hyped for this game all of a sudden! I purposefully avoided everything about it, but I just caved and now I'm gonna have to get it at launch! :)

I love the trainers, friends, and rivals. Things are looking really good.

Now all that's left is to choose between X and Y... -_-

FYI: A bunch of Pokemon will be exclusive to X, and their corresponding Mega stones will be exclusive to Y. i.e. trade with ALL the vgcharters :D

Might be relevant for those who haven't decided which version they want yet. I wanted X but after reading this I think I'm going to go with Y.

 

Edit: The link contains a bunch of new Pokemon. Avoid it if you don't want that spoiled for you.

Letting folks know that there are (obviously) new Pokmeon spoilers in there.

However, I'll start by showing old Pokemon version exlusives. Thanks for the link. ^_^
