Forums - Microsoft Discussion - OXM: Wargaming on MS certification processes: "totally unacceptable" for free-to-play

Tagged games:

Speaking to Polygon at PAX Australia this weekend, CEO of Wargaming Victor Kislyi hopes to change that with World of Tanks: "One of the biggest challenges with Microsoft was the frequency of updates because the QA process and certification process takes an extremely long time. Totally unacceptable for a meaningful free-to-play. We are working with them to do quicker updates."

On why World of Tanks decided to release on Xbox despite the well publicised issues, Kislyi said that it was "the right time and the right place" to do so, saying that "circumstances shaped the ecosystem of the moment". "We, the developers, have to be creative, to experiment, to risk to create new kinds of experience."

As to whether the work that Wargaming does with Microsoft will lead to changes for other developers, Kislyi remains cautiously optimistic: "We will see, there is a lot of work on the technically (sic) side and on the administrative side which should resolve in the acceptable quality of the product, including updates of the product including speed and rates. So we will see."

So they went Xbox exclusive Why?

Oh right. Big pot of money.

lol.. if you would produce a quality product in the the first place you don't need to patch it up that many time... I hate when games are full of bugs and are just patched later on.. its horrible and a slap in the face to the people who buy first day,,
