Forums - Website Topics - What does the Tracked feature mean in the game collection?

Tagged games:

Now don't laugh but, I have been wondering for some months now what the Tracked feature means in the game collection. Every time I go and add some game to my collection, like recently, that button drives me mad. What does it mean?

have had several teories through the months that it means that the game has been mine or played at some point in my life, but is not longer with me.

I may not know what it means because of my English knowledge, but I can't figure out what it is supposed to mean in the context it's in.

If this thread is in the wrong forum, then give me a notice or something.

iirc tracked was something you could set games to so that you would be alerted to any news on that particular game, and I think at one point it was also meant to give you updates on the sales of that particular game as well. This was back when VGC had its own gaming news section though so at this point I don't think it does anything.

So basically it's supposed to be a way for you to track a game.

...

it means they are watching you like the NSA. ;)

Thank you, that was rather interesting. Well, I can say that it's a system that I would have not missed, but I could see it  as somewhat someuseful.

Just another defunct feature that is only kept around for historical purposes. Or nostalgia reasons.

BS, it is only kept around since no one bothered to edit it out of the code properly :P
