Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: New Type in Pokemon X/Y

Tagged games:

If any of you remember, back even before Pokemon Black/White was released in Japan, two workers at the Spanish Official Nintendo Magazine leaked the whole Pokedex (I remember scoffing at their "ridiculous" drawing of some Pokemon named Scraggy... which turned out to be very real. ). Well now they're at it again, but this time they've unveiled a new Pokemon typing. Still, best to take this with a pinch of salt, as we know how crafty the Nintendo Ninjas are!

Here's what he wrote:

Sylveon: Fairy
Xerneas: Fairy
Yveltal: Dark/ Flying

Very interesting if true, and I wonder if they'll keep that type name across the board (Since Dark is actually the "Evil" type in Japan).

Also, what Pokemon do you think would be reclassed as the Fairy type?

Light and Fairy type plz then. But I feel Fairy is too close to flying.

Pokemon that have a good chance of becoming a fairy type/adding a fairy dual typing:

and...

(He is classified as "The Fairy Pokemon" after all. )

Cool. A new type would shake things up a little.

LMAO!!! I think I laughed to hard at that!!!

That was actually quite smart. By giving Xerneas a new type and therefore exclusive new moves, they effectively balanced the scale from the coolness of Yveltal. Now im undecided over wich version to get. :(

Latest new types were Dark and Steel right? That was 10 years ago. A new type is definitely called for!

Oh its definitly gonna be there. On the official reveal of the new Eevee evolved form they had a question mark on the type. Since that doesnt look like a steel type i think its safe to assume there is a new type and fairy seems to fit the bill given their look.

If they said Sylveon's type at his revel I wouldn't think about there being a new type, but because they still haven't said anything about his type I'm pretty confident that Fairy/Light is a new type.

Former something....

Hint #2?
Each "Eevee-lution" has a type border around it. Umbreon's looks like a Demon/Bat wing while Sylveon looks like a angel/fairy wing.
Hint #3?
Sylvan (from Sylveon) is the root for "of the forest". Do you know what beings live in the forests? Fairies!
