EGM has 237 reviews counted in Metacritic. 54% of their reviews are higher than the average critic and 42% are lower. Guess where God of War and Gears of War fall....

God of War Ascension = 70/100 (Apparantly just as good/bad as LittleBigPlanet Karting)
Gears of War 3: Ramm's Shadow(DLC) = 100/100

Yeah it's a little weird especially considering what he said about God of War. Let's take a look:

"A clear example of a studio going to the well with a franchise one too many times. Although highly polished and still entertaining for fans of the franchise, Ascension lacks the soul of its predecessors as it scrapes the bottom of the Greek-mythology barrel to try to deliver on a franchise that’s clearly run dry of fresh ideas."

It is a perfect case of double standards where a shooter can get away with sequel after sequel yet an action game like God of War gets bashed for it.

I invite you to take a look at EGM's reviews on Metacritic and you'll see that most of the time shooters get a free pass from this website. I'll list a few more examples:

Far Cry 3 = 100/100
Dead Space 3 = 75/100 (3rd sequel in the same gen that moves away from what made the first in the series popular, yet it gets a higher review than GOW:A becuz u can shoot stuffz!)

Other interesting facts:

 Halo 4 received a 70/100 from EGM yet Call of Duty Black Ops 2 gets a 90/100! I've played Black Ops 2 and I can tell you it is more of the same. If Halo 4 got points deducted for this, why didn't Black Ops 2?

I've come to the conclusion that this reviewer is neither a Playstation nor Xbox fanboy. He is just a normal gamer whose opinion is no better than yours or mine. His review scale goes something like this: "Like, Hate, Meh" 

I'm going to keep an eye on EGM's Gears of War Judgement review and I'll update this once it goes live.

The review is a review based off of the guy who plays it. Every person has their own likes and dislikes.

Really? Because I think there are even clearer examples and yet you idiots continue to give those franchises great scores. These idiots gave Black Ops II an 83 but then they complain that God of War has been milked...Just fuck off.

Just give Kratos a gun next time around... instant 100/100 score. Maybe even 200/100... double perfect score!

god of war series which i like alot, will have had 2 ps3 releases and 2 hd remasters since 2009. that is alot and i dont mind that they have come out, since i have bought them all. you though cant blame him for feeling that since its true. i hope a gow4 is at least 2 years at least maybe 3 before its released to give us players a wow excitement again.
